Open House

Rochester Curling Club’s Olympic Open House

Saturday, March 3, 2018

As we head to the Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, the Rochester Curling Club is inviting the public to come out and try the sport of Curling for themselves. Club members will be on hand Saturday to help provide an introduction to the sport and instruction on having fun and getting into things!

Available Times

We will be offering four sessions, running about 75 minutes (1 hour and 15 minutes) each:

  • 9:00 AM
  • 11:00 AM
  • 1:00 PM
  • 3:00 PM

Reservations are required, and will be available soon!

Please plan to arrive at least 10-15 minutes before your scheduled time for an introduction and safety information.

More Tips

  • Clothing: Be sure to wear flexible or loose-fitting warm clothes: yoga/stretchy warm-up pants work well, since the temperature on the ice is about 38 degrees.
  • Footwear: Please bring clean athletic shoes for the ice: low top sneakers with a flat sole are recommended, since you will need ankle flexibility to deliver curling stones and you will need to be fitted for rubberized grippers to help with standing and moving around on the ice.
Do not wear your "curling shoes" into the Club, please bring them separately in a bag protected from the elements.

Location

The Rochester Curling Club is located at 71 Deep Rock Road, off of Brooks Ave, and about half a mile from the airport.

Good curling to all!
