Private Parties and Corporate Events

Learning to Curl is a great team building event for your business, organization, or private party!

The Rochester Curling Club offers group instruction during our regular season, late October through the middle of April. Our all-volunteer organization offers:

 - Two hour on-ice introductory or advanced curling experience

 - Optional meeting room rental before and/or after the curling experience

A two hour session typically includes instruction, practice, and an instructor-assisted curling match. Arrive 15 minutes beforehand to view a short video on the sport, sign release forms, and fit footwear with grippers (provided).

More experienced groups who have curled with us previously may receive less instruction time leaving more time to devote to a game.

If anyone in your group experiences knee, back or hip problems we can instruct them in the use of a shuffleboard style stick that will allow them to keep upright while delivering a stone.

Group Size:

Groups of 16 to 32 people can be accommodated at one time on our 4 sheets of curling ice. Larger groups can be managed with flexible/creative planning.

Curling Rates, Deposit, Full Payment:

Adults: $25/person

Youth, 10-17yrs: $15/person

This curling experience is not recommended for children under 10. Groups that include children younger than 10 or those with special needs will be considered on an individual basis.

Meeting Room: $50/hour for use of the warm room before and/or after your curling experience.

The total fee will be charged based on the number of people given at the time you make your reservation, even if fewer actually attend. If more attend, then the charge will be increased accordingly. Please keep in mind, however, that we may not have enough instructors to support late additions if we are not aware of them far enough in advance.

Deposit required: A $100 deposit must be received immediately upon making a reservation in order to hold your spot. The balance is due at the start of your curling program. If your business needs an invoice that can be paid a few days after the event, then that can be arranged.

 Food & Drink:

You may bring in your own food and paper products, or you may order it delivered. Our full kitchen is available to heat food & wash dishes. Your clean up is required.

Our bar offers: Soda/Pop, juice, beer on tap, bottled beer, red & white wine and liquorDrinks can be paid by cash, credit card, or a tab can be kept and paid at the end of your session. Please note that outside alcoholic beverages are not allowed at the club  in accordance with our liquor license.

Participant Release Forms:

We focus on your safety while you are at RCC and supervise your curling experience for your safety. All participants are required to sign a release form. Release forms are available at the club to fill out, or if you wish Adult and Minor Participant Release forms can be printed and filled out  prior to arrival at the curling club to save time during your event.

What should we wear?

The air is normally 38°F on the curling ice, so you should dress warmly. We recommend wicking fabric & removable layers: Wind breaker/Synthethic outer layer with warm inner layers, flexible athletic pants, thin gloves and a hat. Jeans will restrict your movement and are cold. We have locker rooms for changing. Clean, relatively flat sneakers are best for curling. Please carry your clean curling shoes into our building as our parking lot tends to be snowy. We must keep our curling ice as dirt free as possible to allow the curling stones to slide freely. Thank you.
